The Claremont Police Department will hold a sobriety checkpoint this Friday at an undisclosed location in the city. The checkpoint will started at 6 p.m. and run until 2 a.m.
Drivers will be stopped long enough to ensure they are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. They will also be checked for safety belts and valid driver licenses. Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
