Peace Corps reps to give talk at Claremont Senior Center

Local senior citizens are invited to listen about volunteer opportunities with the Peace Corps on Tuesday, February 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Seaver House, 305 N. College Ave.

A representative from the Peace Corps, an organization devoted to world peace and friendship, will provide an overview of how individuals can make an impact in their own community and even abroad. Since the organization was founded in 1960, more than 210,000 Peace Corps volunteers have served in 139 host countries helping countless individuals who want to build a better life for themselves, their children and their communities. Tuesday’s presentation is made possible by After Work, a series of evening events for working adults and recent (and not so recent) retirees. All programs include a short reception and light refreshments. Reservations are required. To RSVP, call 399-5488 or email joslyncenter@ci.claremont.ca.us
