The
Claremont City Council will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, March 19 to
elect one of its own as the new town mayor and mayor pro tem.
In contract
to other cities, the city of Claremont has long held a tradition of electing
the mayor from among the city council membership. This year the tradition
continues. Larry Schroeder will pass the
torch after a year as Claremont’s mayor. The appointments
take place at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 225. W. Second St.
