Claremont's Independence Day committee is giving residents incentive to get festive for this Fourth of July. The winner of the annual House Decorating Contest, a staple part of the city's Fourth of July Celebration, will win recognition at the pre-parade reception, a place of honor in the parade itself, tickets to the fireworks show and an American flag that flew over the capitol.
To be considered, decorations must be outdoors and visible from the street. Judging will take place on Sunday, June 23. Each entry will be critiqued based on spirit, appearance and creativity. Contest entry forms may be obtained by visiting www.Claremont4th.org.
