Kindred Spirits hosts workshop for women

Shared by COURIER follower Elizabeth Boubion:

Realign the spirit and invite movement into your life for 2013 with "Embodied Visioning for Women", a workshop to be led by Ms. Boubion at Kindred Spirits on January 3 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Using dance improvisation, drawing, contemplative writing, vocal expression and mindful witnessing, you are invited to expand into more expressive freedom, identify life themes through the wisdom of the body and artfully embody your personal mythology within a supportive group dynamic. This work is based in Somatic Therapies and the Halprin Life-Art process, a movement-based expressive arts modality developed by dance pioneer Anna Halprin at the Tamalpa Institute.

The $50 class is open to all women and trans folks. All levels, no dance experience necessary.

Ms. Boubion, MFA, grew up in Claremont and is now an Oakland-based contemporary dance choreographer, vocal improviser, ritual leader, mother and associate teacher of the Tamalpa Institute. She has been performing and practicing dance as a healing art for 20 years and facilitates groups and individuals of all ages. For more information, visit www.lizboubion.org.

To register for the workshop, email chuparosadancing@gmail.com. Kindred Spirits is located at 813 W. Foothill Blvd.
