Actress Geena Davis graces the Garrison Stage tonight

Academy Award-winning actress Geena Davis presents this evening at Scripps College's Garrison Theater, 231 E. Tenth St., at 7:30 p.m. 

Known for her roles on the big and silver screens, as well as for her advocacy for women, Ms. Davis will speak on gender equality in modern media. Beyond her memorable roles in Thelma and Louise, A League of their Own and the TV series Commander in Chief, for which she won a Golden Globe in 2006, Ms. Davis is the chair of the California Commission on the Status of Women and the special envoy for women and girls in the field of technology for the United Nations. As the founder of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, Ms. Davis is well versed on the issue for which she speaks tonight at Scripps.
