Spring for Shoes with local nonprofit

Claremont-based nonprofit Shoes That Fit is calling on help from the community for its annual Spring for Shoes campaign, which kicks off today, March 8.

Now through March 24, Shoes That Fit and the Claremont Village Marketing Group are asking for new athletic shoes and socks, among other items, to be donated to children in need.  Totake part, visit a participating Village business and choose a tote bag. Each bag has the name and age of a child, along with a shoe size. Fill the tote with shoes, socks and other goodies and return to the business by the end of the campaign. About 125 children are in need this spring.
