City seeks leadership for community block grant program


The city of Claremont is seeking proposals from individuals/firms interested in and qualified for implementation and administration of the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.  

The city of Claremont participates in the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s CDBG Program through the County of Los Angeles Community Development Commission (CDC).  For fiscal year 2013-2014, the city’s allocation is approximately $137,204.00.  These funds are used for a variety of projects and activities, which currently include the Housing Rehabilitation Program, Senior Case Management Program and Job Creation & Business Incentive Grant Program.  For more information on how to submit a proposal, contact Joanne Hwang, associate planner, at 399-5470, or by email at jhwang@ci.claremont.ca.us.  A copy of the proposal can be downloaded from the city’s website, www.ci.claremont.ca.us.  Proposals must be submitted to the Community Development Department, City Hall, 207 Harvard Avenue, Claremont, CA 91711, by Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 6 p.m., to be eligible for consideration.
