The City of Trees is living up to its green accolades and
doing it up big for this weekend’s Earth Day observance. Second Street between
Oberlin and Yale Avenues will shut down on Saturday, April 20 between 10 a.m.
and 3 p.m. to make way for live entertainment, art displays and other
activities in commemoration of the eco-conscious holiday.
Stop by Uncommon Good, 211 W. Foothill Blvd., at 10 a.m. for
the debut of the Whole Earth Building, which is comprised mainly of soil dug on
site. Tours will be given. The Claremont Colleges will also lead tours through
several of its new sustainable buildings. All festivities are free and open to
the public.
