Claremont residents invited to cool down

With the forecasted weekend heat wave, Claremont residents are reminded that the city of Claremont hosts designated cool zones when the temperature is expected to be 100 or above for several consecutive days. Claremont’s refrigerated destination centers include the Alexander Hughes Center, the Claremont Library, as well as the Blaisdell and Joslyn Senior Centers.

For updated information on the city’s cooling centers, visit www.ci.claremont.ca.us.
If the heat continues over the weekend beyond the centers’ normal operating hours, the city will extend the Hughes Center hours on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and also open the Hughes Center on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
